The Major Minors Children's Choir is an all-comers children's choir, based in Upper Hutt, New Zealand.
The Choir was formed in 2012 by Musical Director Joanne Roelofs and Pianist Karen Boyce as a one-off children's choir of unauditioned primary school aged children which was part of a choral programme with the Hutt Valley Singers.

In the beginning, the Choir had no name so we ran a competition for the children to name their Choir and design a logo. The competition entries were judged by the Hutt Valley Singers, the best three logo designs combined and The Major Minors Children's Choir was officially named.

In 2015, with the choir group and sound expanding, an extension group, The Harmonic Minors was formed to work on more harmonies, more difficult repertoire and to develop and grow the choir members skill set. To become a member there is a very simple audition to listen for tuning and the ability to hold a part while others are singing.

New Members are always welcome.

The choirs are run voluntarily by qualified musicians.
